New Stuff in the Works!
Hi friends. It's been a while.
I know we've been pretty quiet around here for about a year now and I want to thank everyone who has reached out, checked in, and kept the faith with us through the silence. I read every message, even when I haven't always had the bandwidth to respond the way you all deserve. The short version is: we haven't gone anywhere. The longer version is what this post is about.
So where have we been?
The truth is, after the tariff chaos earlier this year and the decision to skip Transworld, we made a choice as a team to stop talking and start building. Not because we didn't have anything to say, but because we had something much bigger we wanted to say later, and the only way to get there was to put our heads down.
For most of this year, Mike and the tech team have been working hand in hand with a small group of professional haunts and escape room operators. Real venues. Real shows. Real, honest, sometimes brutal feedback from people who run this stuff for a living and have no patience for tools that don't pull their weight. These are operators we trust, and they trusted us back, and what came out of those conversations changed the trajectory of what we're building entirely.
I won't pretend it's been a comfortable year. There have been long nights, hard re-designs, and moments where we questioned whether we were on the right track. But every single time we got a unit into a real environment and watched it run, it told us something we couldn't have learned in our shop. We listened. We tore things down. We built them back up better.
So what is it?
I'll be honest with you, I'm not going to tell you. Not yet.
What I will say is that this isn't a refresh. It isn't a small bump or a "now in a new color" announcement. This is a new generation of controllers, designed from the ground up alongside the people who actually use them in the field. Everything we learned in early access, everything we heard at Transworld, every late-night Discord conversation about what was missing — it all fed into this.
I want to do this right. I want the reveal to mean something. So you're going to have to bear with me for a little longer while we put the finishing touches on it.
What happens next?
Here's what I can tell you about the road ahead:
- We're going to start coming out of radio silence over the next few months. Expect to see a lot more from us.
- We will not be at Transworld this year, but we'll be looking at the other shows.
- Our pro haunt and escape room partners have been incredible, and we'll have more to share about what they've been doing with the new system as we get closer.
- If you are an operator and you'd like to be part of the next round of feedback as we widen the circle, keep an eye on Discord. We'll have a path for you.
I know "something big is coming" is the oldest line in the book, and I've sat through enough teasers in this industry to know how exhausting they can be. So I'm not going to keep teasing forever. We've earned the right to talk about what we've been doing, and very soon, we will.
For now, thank you for sticking with us through the quiet. The team has poured everything into this one, and I genuinely cannot wait for you to see it.
Talk soon.
